GalatiansStudy 41: Gal.5:22-26The fruit of the Spirit (2)Joy
|
|
But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no
law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh
with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let
us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain
glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

And now I am no more in the
world, but these are in the world, and I
come to thee. Holy Father, keep through
thine own name those whom thou hast
given me, that they may be one, as we
are. While I was with them in the
world, I kept them in thy name: those
that thou gavest me I have kept, and
none of them is lost, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be
fulfilled. And now come I to thee;
and these things I speak in the world,
that they might have my joy fulfilled in
themselves. I have given them thy
word; and the world hath hated them,
because they are not of the world, even
as I am not of the world. I pray
not that thou shouldest take them out of
the world, but that thou shouldest keep
them from the evil. They are not
of the world, even as I am not of the
world. Jn.17:11-16 |

And the seventy returned again
with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils
are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan
as lightning fall from heaven.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread
on serpents and scorpions, and over all
the power of the enemy: and nothing
shall by any means hurt you.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not,
that the spirits are subject unto you;
but rather rejoice, because your names
are written in heaven. In that
hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said,
I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, that thou hast hid these
things from the wise and prudent, and
hast revealed them unto babes: even so,
Father; for so it seemed good in thy
sight. All things are delivered to
me of my Father: and no man knoweth who
the Son is, but the Father; and who the
Father is, but the Son, and he to whom
the Son will reveal him. And he
turned him unto his disciples, and said
privately, Blessed are the eyes which
see the things that ye see: For I
tell you, that many prophets and kings
have desired to see those things which
ye see, and have not seen them; and to
hear those things which ye hear, and
have not heard them. Lk.10:17-24 |

I say unto you, that likewise joy
shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and
nine just persons, which need no
repentance........................... Likewise, I say
unto you, there is joy in the presence
of the angels of God over one sinner
that repenteth.
Lk.15:7;10
Looking unto Jesus the author and
finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was
set before him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right hand of the
throne of God.
Heb.12:2 |
| As also ye have
acknowledged us in part, that we are
your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours
in the day of the Lord Jesus. II Cor.1:14
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind........................... Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. Phil.2:2,17
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. Phil.4:1
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy. I Thess.1:19-20

Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go
away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me,
ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the
Father: for my Father is greater than I.
Jn.14:28 |

A little while, and ye
shall not see me: and again, a little while, and
ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
Then said some of his disciples among
themselves, What is this that he saith unto us,
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and
again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and,
Because I go to the Father? They said therefore,
What is this that he saith, A little while? we
cannot tell what he saith. Now Jesus knew that
they were desirous to ask him, and said unto
them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I
said, A little while, and ye shall not see me:
and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall
weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice:
and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall
be turned into joy.A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow,
because her hour is come: but as soon as she is
delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the
anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see
you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your
joy no man taketh from you. And in that day
ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name,
he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked
nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that
your joy may be full.
